People typically cringe when they hear keyword research analysis for SEO.  They’re like, “I have no time to blog, but I have to do it,” and then they wonder why they aren’t seeing much online traffic.

Chances are, you need more than just a good idea. You need the data from those organic keyword search terms that can prioritize your efforts so you won’t be burnt-out from your content marketing efforts.

I discovered I was a natural-born advocate for companies and freelance B2B/B2C clients when I got laid off from an ESL teaching position at a local university back in 2017. I first dug into learning how to do keyword research for SEO back in 2018 for a global company after getting certified in SEO Copywriting from the SEO Content Institute. In the beginning, it wasn’t just getting that keyword research spreadsheet “right” – the one thing that made me feel safe, but finding golden opportunities to optimize a company’s website with search terms that Users were searching for. And because I was objective, I had a huge edge.

Like any kind of job, it’s important to remember your BIG WHY, the reasons why you are drawn to that particular work in the first place. So without any ado, here are my top 5 reasons why still after all these months, keyword research analysis still fires me up and how I can help your business grow.

A bottle labeled Search Engine Optimization (SEO)1. I get to cheerlead and advocate for my clients especially book marketing clients.

Since partnering with Deborah Herman of Micro Publishing Media as a keyword research SEO expert, I get to wear the author advocate hat. The authors we come into contact with, become savvy marketers when they understand how search terms are crucial for providing an audience and market.

As Deb Herman says, “as soon as you begin your book, you need to think of your audience and how to reach them. SEO keyword research helps you know what the pain points are for your reader and will help you organize your book.”

2. I get to educate people why these keywords and keyphrases are so magical.

As Heather Lloyd Martin of SEO Content Institute has said, “SEO has always gotten a bad rap because people are thinking it’s technical, but for the most part, you are connecting with people who might not have found you any other way other than randomly putting in keywords into Google.”

This is the mysterious SEO keyword magic. You are connecting with people, not just selling a service or product. And in a COVID-19 age where people are feeling anxious and stressed, this connection is of utmost importance.

By teaching  SEO best practices with my signature course Increase Your Online Reach through the Magic of SEO through Writers Digest University, my students are understanding their Google User, who is their target audience, and how to blog strategically and with purpose.

a podcast on Search Engine Optimization for Authors and Authorpreneurs3. When I teach SEO either through Writer’s Digest University or through Micro Publishing Media, I get to explain what to know about your Customer as a Google User.

This is one of the more subtle areas of SEO that is not often talked about, but important nonetheless. By getting to know your target market’s psyche and their emotional pain points, it will be easier to do keyword research and keyword targeting that your target audience is entering into Google.

What’s the best way for you to show up in the search results? Be the answer that your target audience is looking for. I go more in detail in the latest Youtube edition of Office Hours, Generating Ideas for Your SEO Content Strategy with Shift Collaborative  where I explain more in-depth how to do keyword research for SEO and for the podcast Author Your Dream.

4. I get to explain to you how your content and SEO go hand in hand.

Because of COVID-19, many people are feeling a lot of stress and uncertainty. People aren’t searching, in the same way, they were just a few weeks ago. This is where SEO and content creation comes in.  Learning now how to make content relatable to your Google User is more important than ever before.

And because the COVID numbers are back up and more people are in sheltering-in-place and in quarantine, we’re consuming content more than ever and rapidly as we look for new opportunities. We’re breaking Zoom records. And we’re Zoomed out.

how to improve seo ranking 20195. I get to play a role in building a brand and platform. This is probably the best part of my work doing SEO Magic. Search Engine Optimization makes a massive difference in online platform whether you’re an authorpreneur or a company. More consistent leads without as much time spent marketing. And for authors who are very close to their books and unsure how to reach their specific audience, SEO Magic with the right keywords and keyphrases is the way in.
